- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
We can’t stress enough on how important water is to us! It is vital in maintaining our bodily functions and also helps to detoxify the body. In sunny Singapore, we advise you to consume 8-10 cups of 250ml of water each day! Add more fun and nutrients to your drink by putting in slices of fruits such as lemon, cucumber and orange! You can also consume hydrating veggies and fruits like cucumber, cantaloupe and lettuce!
- Get that beauty sleep
Most of us need to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep to feel rejuvenated and ready for the day. The optimal sleeping time is around 10pm and waking time is 6am. During this period, hormones level will adjust to prepare you for the new day. Most importantly, keep to a sleep cycle!
- Pick up a hobby
Now’s the time to do something you’ve always wanted to do but had no time to! Try out gardening, badminton, join new courses or even go on road trips! There are so much more facilities than before to assist you in your adventures. Check out your neighbourhood community centre to seek out like-minded people!
- Be joyful
Nothing beats positive thinking. Laughing will help to reduce stress hormones such as cortisol and epinephrine. Instead, it increases endorphins, made to keep your body and mind healthy! Add more colour to your life! Try lightening up and gathering people for your daily laughter break!
- Eat healthy
With age keeping up, there is a need to get all the nutrients you can get! Eat more greens and fruits! They are rich in vitamins and minerals, keeping you refreshed and energised! Try to avoid trans fats that typically come from fried food as they will increase your bad cholesterol levels.
